Description
Coffey’s Corner is a historical building that originally served as a boarding house for railroad workers for the Southern and Seaboard Railroads. Throughout the building’s history, the downstairs portions have been used as restaurants, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle shop, and an auction house, among other uses. The building is currently home to the historical State Street Apartments, Coffey’s Antiques, and Coffey’s Appliances, which have been in business since 1971. The building’s design is a colorful homage to its roots in the railroad industry, with bold, abstract lines alluding to railroad tracks, crossing arms, and a ghosted image of the now-obsolete Seaboard Railroad logo on the east end.
